What is the cost of installing a security system?

Answer: There is no one-size-fits-all system. One of our trained technicians will meet with you and provide a written estimate for a system tailored to meet your specific needs.

Why do I need a monitoring service? Won’t the siren noise be enough protection?

Answer: With a monitored security system both you and the authorities will be notified. Additionally, if you are not at home or there’s a fire or a non-burglary related emergency, an unmonitored system is ineffective for obtaining necessary help.

Do you offer monitoring services?

Answer: Yes. Your safety is important to us. That’s why our monitoring company is in the Dallas area and UL certified.

Do I need a home phone line to be monitored?

Answer: Not necessarily. We offer cellular monitoring as well as traditional. If no phone line is available or if you have a VOIP line that does not support a security system, cellular monitoring is a great alternative.

Do I need an alarm permit?

Answer: Check with your city to determine their permit requirements and fees or visit the website www.alarmpermit.com

Does my home need to be pre-wired to have a security system?

Answer: Having wiring already in place certainly simplifies the install and also can help us protect doors or windows that are inaccessible after construction is completed. However, wireless technology is very reliable and can be used seamlessly in most systems.

Will I own the equipment?

Answer: Yes. Owning the equipment reduces your cost of paying monthly equipment leasing fees that many other companies charge. Summit Security Company equipment includes a one-year labor and parts warranty.

Can I control my system with my smart phone?

Answer: Yes. An optional cellular modem also offers the ability to arm/disarm your alarm system. There is a small monthly charge for this service.

Can I view cameras on my phone when I am away from my house?

Answer: Yes. Summit Security Company can install cameras that use your internet connection to give you the ability to access cameras utilizing a free app.

Can I play music from my phone or tablet on speakers in my home?

Answer: Yes. We offer systems using Apple’s Airplay as well as systems for Android users.
